The road to Canmore is really scenic. The mountains get closer and closer. At some point you just slip between two of them and that's it. You are in the Rockies. Surprisingly, we went downhill for most of the afternoon. I've never though that going to the Rockies would be "going down to the Rockies". At Canmore, it starts rainning. we decide to find a wood and hide there until the next day. Distance: 75 km

07/09/10 Cochrane to Canmore
This morning, David escorted us to the highway 1A. Then we said good bye and biked hard to Canmore. On the way, we met a French Family on a bike trip. There was three children of two and half, six and twelve years old. They took a flight to Halifax and then biked all the way to Toronto. Then, they took the train to Jasper and biked across the rockies to Calgary. they were now going to South America on their bikes. I don't understand how the parents can make it, camping every night with three kids and carrying all their stuff including the youngest kid. Wow!
